Doing tai chi a little bit after 4pm today was probably not the best idea. But I did, and YE GODS the sweating was appalling. I was slippery by the end of it, except maybe my palms and the soles of my feet, and massively tired — how could I not be? Not recommended — “upon waking” really is the best time.
On the other hand, this is clearly a strategy. If one is fighting, I imagine that getting hot and sweaty at high speed is a good strategy. My own hands were capable of grabbing and seizing, but everyone else would have had trouble doing that to me.
I can’t say that my practice was particularly slow today, but it was definitely heavier and more serious than it usually is. Ok. time for food, and maybe sleep immediately after.
