Taiji 153: ideal time

Today I did tai chi about 7:45. It seemed the perfect balance point between heat and bugs — not too warm, but not swarmed by mosquitoes either. Much better than yesterday.

My Windmill Kick is coming along. My leg is straighter during the kick, and I can hit one palm, the right one, during the kick. The left is going to be more of a challenge, but I’ve made progress toward that too. I’m also able to hold or slow down parts of the descent of my leg to the ground — progress toward what my friend Nik described as “reversible action”. He found an article on Huffington Post about tai chi practitioners trying for actions that can be stopped or corrected at any step on the way. I’m definitely making progress on that concept.
