As some of my readers know, I’m on the fringes of the occult community. I rarely attend workshops or programs, and I’m not exactly heavily involved in any of the “big mojo” events in the world. On the other hand, I’ve been an on-again/off-again contributor to magical forums, and I’m interested in how magic interfaces with culture: frankly, I think anyone who doesn’t know about magic shouldn’t be allowed to teach history. There hasn’t been a culture in world history that hasn’t practiced magic in some form or another.
It was intriguing to me to find this declaration of a new year’s resolution experiment, though. Ideally, one starts one’s New Year’s Resolutions now… before they get weighted down by the heaviness of the new year.
I have a number of goals. First, I’m really serious about getting back into my tai chi practice. So starting today, I want to do my tai chi routine daily. Second, I’m really committed to getting Design Thinking successfully launched and established at my school. This is taking a while, but it’s already underway. Third is a lot more complicated, because I don’t really want to say much about it, but I really want to complete my Mansions of the Moon series of drawings/sketches/illustrations, and maybe my Tarot cards as well.
So there’s a start. I’ll list more things as I think of them.
