Usually, the term for a coat and matching pants is a suit. This suit happens to be an 18th-century style coat and pants appropriate for a pirate, in red and black and gold. It’s partly for a Halloween costume and partly for a mascot costume for a high school. The material is black and maroon canvas, and I haven’t purchased the gold trim yet which will adorn the coat. The goal, of course, is to have it finished by next weekend. It might be finished tomorrow if I can find the right braid today.
For a costumer of course, Halloween is a bread-and-butter season. Mostly what I’ve made and been paid for is men’s costume pieces, enough so that it’s becoming a speciality.
In any case, the parts are cut. Another case of salve et coagula. Now that the solve is done, time to coagulate.
