Tai Chi Y3D287: Slow it down

I managed to make my tai chi practice last 25 minutes this morning.  Now back to bed.  A happy 2015 to one and all.

Except.

Except it’s not that simple, is it?  It never is.  How does one slow down a tai chi practice, when all one has ever really done is do it fast, not-as-fast, and a-little-bit-slower-than-that?  That’s tough.

Today, for me, it was all about the breath.  When you focus on breathing several times for each movement, that slows you down. The risk is that you breathe faster to compensate.  That’s the wrong way to go about it — the breath has to be slow enough that the movement happens at the breath’s speed, not the other way around.
