Tai chi y2D266: running behind

I stayed up way too late last night, working on a sewing project and keeping long-distance vigil for a woman near death, with candles burning in the living room and the sewing machine clattering away in the office. About 2:30 am, I got the call that she had died, and so I readied myself for bed, and fell asleep instantly,

Waking at five am…. Not so instantly. Six am is really closer to the mark, with the snooze button getting smooshed down six times. At nine minutes a pop, well. It was 6:10 before I stood wi heels together and toes at an angle to begin my qi gong routines. And I’m definitely dragging this morning. It’s going to be a long day.

For all the roughness involved in starting today, though, it wasn’t a bad practice. Rushed, perhaps… But we all already know that’s one of my key challenges in tai chi practice. Smooth? I’d say so, and with enough tension in the arms that I got a good workout. I think we’re off to a good start to what has the potential to be a long day.
