Today, about 12 postures into the tai chi form, I realized that an old habit was creeping back in. I’d skipped a few crucial steps near the beginning, and for a few moments I debated whether or not to try to work them in from right where I was.
I didn’t.
I stopped the tai chi form, and went back to my starting spot, and did the whole sequence again, correctly this time, with that sequence of steps that begins with “Spread Hands Like Fan” and ends with “Retreat to the Mountain Camp.”
Yesterday I didn’t chew my nails at all.
