From what I can tell, Rick and Maria’s Zentangle system relies on strings, or separator lines, to divide areas into regions to be tangled or filled with designs. Yet a lot of my work involves symbolism. How to combine?
So… Here is a Zentangle square produced the Zentangle way, right down to rolling an icosahedron to select from one of twenty patterns. Yet the underlying string was a hexagram or six pointed star. And consequently the resulting Zentangle is a bit of Hermetic or Jewish illumination — no pictures of people or flowers or anything, and yet beautiful.
I think I’m going to like learning this system of art.
