I’ve been working on this one, off and on, for a while now. This is the decan of both me and my mother: the Third Decanate or Face of Cancer.

A man with long hair sits Indian-style on the back of a turtle equipped with a sail. The sail is adorned with five rings, representing the jewelry he seeks out for his wives and daughters. A snake is curled around the mast. He is traveling over the ocean.

I have some insight into what it all means, but frankly I’m as mystified as you are. On the other hand, I think it’s a beautiful picture. It’s mysterious, unusual, immediately identifiable, and energetic. It’ll make a nice birthday gift once it’s matted and framed.
