Here’s an example of the kind of thing we’re doing right now in my classroom. Again, I don’t want to say too much about it, but this is (from the left) a rough model of a house done quick-and-dirty with a cut piece of paper; and a template for a more specific one piece cut-out of a house. We’re planning to make a full model.
Of course, this is challenging. It turns out that the angle of the eaves is wrong, and it’s resulted in the length of the roof being wrong. A failure of measurement in the rough plan leads to mistakes in the model.
