I began teaching seventh graders how to program Google Docs forms to give quizzes. There’s a lot of anxiety and concern from the kids about how to make it work. It’s clear that this is going to require more class days than I originally anticipated. But the results are going to be so cool, it’s hard not to get excited about it.
I mentioned it to one of my colleagues, that I was teaching this, though. She got it immediately.
“They’ll be able to write quizzes for themselves to review material. They’ll be able to lead other students as technically-savvy and technically literate students! They’ll understand the basics of programming!”
I don’t expect to get much push-back from students about this. I wonder what parents will say.
