It occurs to me afterward that using the term ‘cranky’ to describe Gary Stager wasn’t really the best move. He comes across as abrasive and angry, but he’s been pushing the idea of computers in student hands for a lot longer than anyone I know, and it’s not surprising that’s he a bit frustrated at how long it’s all seeming to take, with every generation advancing the cause just a little bit. I think we owe him a debt of gratitude for fighting the fight.
