
This is is a test to see how to add pictures, but it’s kind of a cool picture. I asked a group of seventh graders to design the programs and facilities of their ideal school. They built a pretty strong model, but they demanded to know a LOT more about technology.
They didn’t build their model using a blackboard. They did it with Post-It® Notes.
This suggests strongly that technology is a real disruptor of our schools. We think of it as an interruption, but it’s actually a disruption. It’s a change in the way things are that should change how we teach. To quote Gibson’s famous maxim, “the future is here; it’s just not evenly distributed.” To which I might add “yet”.
