Sharpest Object

The American Institute of Physics has published this image of the sharpest object ever manufactured, a tungsten needle. The photo was taken with a Field Ion Microscope (FIM). Obviously, it’s not very sharp. But the notion that you can view objects down to the level of atoms is astonishing, and the picture is pretty cool at showing that a very sharp thing is, in fact, not very sharp.
