Going Home

Spent last night at the Poets’ Asylum having a wonderful time, after a lovely dinner with my sweetie <lj user=lovelips>. Salmon with honey glaze, followed by spoken word. Delish. Wonderful poetry from lots of folks, wonderful hosting by our eminent hostess , glorious time had by all (unless you weren’t having fun, of course). Particular happy noises and thanks for poetry to , , , , and .I miss Denny’s, though.

Spent Saturday night at the Full Moon Ritual at The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, the gallery space of the visionary artist Alex Gray. Beautiful artwork, interesting space, rocking drum and dance. Had a good time helping Ms.Imani set the intention of the space beforehand, stayed for the ritual from 7:30-9:30, and then helped takedown afterwards. Good time. Found the artist approachable and communicative afterwards, and saw the Faery King, but didn’t have a chance to introduce myself between him communicating with his court and leaving early-ish, and me being a little bit all over the place on my first visit to CoSM. Even so, a good time, and met an interesting person or two. Also got to read the Sonnet for the Full Moon of June, which was well-received. Amazing — you bring the wildness to New York, and people really are pleased, but “when are you coming to visit Connecticut?” and it’s very much, “Oh, but it’s so far and out of the way.”

Heading down to my Mom and Dad’s for about a week today. May have internet, but probably won’t.
