We did OK into today’s match. There weren’t any obvious blowouts, 15-0 or 15-1 all through the day. WFC and RS fencers were pretty evenly distributed through the ranks. We took 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20 out of 20. Not impossibly bad, actually. And even better than I thought — though It rankles me a little to realize that I myself only trained one of the two tied for #3, and the 9th, of the top ten. The others learned to fence elsewhere.
Oh, well. Room for improvement.
In other news, I’ve now seen the same owl three nights running. Friday he was sitting in the snow by the infirmary. Saturday night, as I was coming home from dinner, he was sitting in the tree by the fencing salle. Tonight, he was sitting on the rail of the stairway up to my front door from the back driveway. It’s a sign or symbol of something, but I’m not sure what, yet.
