Lovely breakfast

Had a lovely breakfast with HA and BG at Bill’s. A good time was had by all, talking about parents’ weekend, and debriefing. It was a good time, and I’m looking forward to doing more with these two again. Yay for high quality friends at work.

Still yawning my head off from the weekend, even with two cups of coffee. Need to write the Full Moon sonnet for October sometime today. Also need to evaluate over the next couple of weeks whether I wish to continue writing the series after December. and I got copies of the lunar calendar for 2006, and the dates of new and full moons shift A LOT. Ten days is about the standard, which means that the environmental changes I described for 2005’s new moons will be happening at the full moon this year; and the environmental occurances of 2005’s full moons will be at the new moon. Hrm. This is potentially a problem, and suggests a need to write two (or possibly four) sets of New and Full Moon sonnets, depending on whether the full moon occurs at the beginning, early middle, late middle, or end of the month.

Meanwhile, I’m also putting together a calendar of dates I want to commemorate with poetry to write during 2006. Each month has around six or eight days apiece worth noting. Some are holy days from the Roman festal calendar; others are poets’ birthdays or days for commemorating things like the discovery of the irrational number Pi. Tomorrow, for example, is the day for commemorating Pandrosos the all-refreshing one, who sounds like a pretty groovy gal, the one who guarded the infant king of Athens, Erecthonius, for Athena and Hephaestus.
