Weight Update

My weight is down below 275 pounds.

This is both encouraging and discouraging. On the one hand, it’s nice that I’m no longer hovering around 280. On the other, it’s frustrating that it’s taken me weeks to lose 5 pounds and keep it off. For weeks now, I’ve been bouncing between 275 and 280: I’d get down to 275, and something would come up, where I wouldn’t be able to eat very healthily, or the food in the dining hall wouldn’t match my requirements.

A Boy Scout camp is in the process of offering me a job to be their waterfront director. It looks like work starts around 6:30am with morning swim, and ends around 8pm with an evening swim. Presumably I’d be in charge of a group of lifeguards, but I haven’t any idea. I’d also have to swim 100 yards STRONGLY, and demonstrate familiarity with canoe and kayak. I can do that — if they have a kayak large enough for me to fit in. It would also be great exercise, although I guess I wouldn’t be able to bike to work very easily. It’s on route 44 the whole way, and while it’s only 10 miles or so, it would be a long-ish ten miles at 5:30 in the morning or 8:30 at night. I’ll have to see what the actual duties are.

  1. That is about where I hover Su..it is frustrating huh?
    But if you are going to the gym-some of that weight might be transfering to muscle…that happens sometimes..

    do you know? i was totally standing on the scale at the gym yesterday, & saying (i believe out loud, even), Gah! What do i have to do?? i’m going to be at 162 for the rest of my life – fuck.

    this is after 3 weeks of going to the gym at least 3x/week, & keeping a handle on my intake. grrrr.

      But if you are going to the gym-some of that weight might be transfering to muscle…that happens sometimes..
