The Two-Days “Flu”

Two days after the kids come back, and my throat is itchy, my head aches, my sinuses are phlegmy, and my breathing feels thick. It never fails.

Well, the energetic aspects aren’t that hard to figure out.

    1) I was up late on Sunday, squeezing in a last little bit of vacation.
    2) I drove home to school early Monday — no transition day between vacation and work.
    3) I was up late Monday getting ready for Tuesday classes.
    4) I was up early Tuesday, when I taught a full day of school, without breaks because another teacher was sick, and the school had an important visitor that I guided around campus.
    4) I was up very late Tuesday — taking to meet F & T.
    5) I was up early on Wednesday, taught a full day of classes.

So this is my energetic pattern — I hit the ground running in everything I do.

This is the kids’ energetic pattern.

    1) They stay up late partying Sunday.
    2) They travel from the four corners of the globe on Monday
    3) They pick up sniffles, sneezes, coughs, colds, flus from the four corners of the globe and bring them here.
    4) They don’t wash their hands, they blow their noses onto their sleeves, and they sneeze and cough without covering their mouths.

Behold, the energetic pattern of hitting the ground running meets the world of bacteria.

So here it is, the fifth day since school re-started, I’ve finally had a good night’s sleep, and I’ve cleared up some other energies that are irrelevant to school, and I’m back to my usual good health.

  2. Evil children.
Maybe you’re allergic to them like I am :-).

Are you taking any yummy immune boosters? Probably should be taking cod liver oil during the winter to ward off flu (I have to start taking it too…haven’t started yet).

    Good luck.
Hey, are you available next week for dinner sometime? I’m all alone and would be happy to make a yummy dinner and share it! Let me know! 🙂 (especially Thursday…as I’m on duty and can’t leave the apartment :-(…)

    • Yeah, Thursday can work.

I’m doing fairly strict Atkins at the moment, tho, and I still have to sit in the dining hall until 6:30.
