Taiji day 114: on the lawn

There really is no better way to do tai chi than in bare feet on grass. Sometimes the grass is prickly and it reminds you to place your feet cautiously. Sometimes it’s wet and it reminds you not to give in to surprise. Sometimes, like today, it’s a progression from five golden coins on the porch to eight pieces of silk on the driveway to the form on the grass.

However it’s done, the benefits of doing the work out of doors — even on a cloudy day — can’t really be overstated.
