316 makes me always think of John 3:16, which you always see people holding up on signs at football games: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I didn’t get to my tai chi until just now. I taught a workshop on geomancy this morning at Feast of Lights, and then I was hanging out with friends in the afternoon — so long that I missed the two afternoon workshops I’d intended to go to. And then it was time to go home, and go shopping, and do the work of getting ready for the first day of school tomorrow. And to read Michael Moore’s call for the federal government to step in, and for a people’s revolt against the government of Michigan.
But then it was time for tai chi. Alas, you can’t expect that your morning practice is normal, and then wait until nearly 6:30 pm for your practice to run on an atypical day. But it went fine, I think, given the lateness of the experience. Tomorrow will be better. It has to be, after all — I’m going to be teaching it for an hour and a half.
