I did both qi gong forms today, and four tai chi forms. I haven’t been sleeping well lately, and it occurred to me that eight tai chi forms, plus my morning coffee, were pushing me into energetic realms that weren’t necessarily heathy. Four hours of sleep nightly is not enough. In any case, four tai chi forms definitely got the job done, and took about 30 minutes.
When I say, “it got the job done”, what I mean is that I broke a sweat, and that each of the four forms was better than the last. And my form work is starting to incorporate the eight types of movement: outward, inward, upward, downward, footwork, breathwork, splitting, and moving through water. These are happening in my form work; not all at once, but in fits and starts, together. And this strikes me as a very good sign. A very good sign indeed.
