Tai Chi Y4D124: Tai chi not qi gong

I did eight iterations of the form, twenty push-ups, and neither of the qi gong forms.  It was a pretty good workout, but not a sweaty one.  It’s already blazingly hot where I am, and uncomfortable.  Doing just that much was challenging, where I am.

The big challenge these days is getting myself through eight iterations of the form.  It’s still the case that I’m resistant to the idea that eight is the new standard.  It doesn’t help that some days I still have life issues that crop up that keep me slipping back to the old “one or two iterations is enough” model, or that there are days, like today, when I don’t do the two qi gong movements.

It’s ok, though.  I’m still doing what I set out to do.

I’m beginning to be able to combine the different kinds of movements more effectively.   Today it was Downward movement and Outward movement that began to come together a bit more effectively.  Combining Splitting with Outward or Inward movement is more challenging.

Some things to work on.
