You can really tell a lot of lies with statistics. Today, most of my readers are Swedish, or Canadian. Or they’re Americans currently in Sweden or Canada. Canada is outperforming the US in origins of IP addresses by 10 to 1. Usually, it’s the other way around — 20 to 30 American visitors for every Canadian one. I wonder if I’ve made a horrible mistake in my blog, and Stephen Downes or Bryan Jackson are calling me on it. It’s happened before.
Sometime today, I will likely pass 47,000 visitors. This means, sometime around mid-June, if my current visitors per month remain steady, I’ll have 50,000 visitors. There’s always the chance I’ll win some award or get a one-off mention on Reddit, or a Twitter tweet that goes viral, but I’m not really planning on it.
