Today, we passed through another portal. About 60% of the kids had memorized the correct endings for the verb endings for the present tense declarative forms of regular Latin verbs. Most of the rest will get there tomorrow.
I’m liking this process of giving very short quizzes — very short… It’s 1/4 of a standard sheet of paper. They’re easily graded; I can hold the answers easily in my mind; I can let kids know the mistake instantly; they get immediate feedback. The kids like them too: they understand that if I give a Portal, that it’s a key to making the language come alive.
