This picture, which is admittedly hard to interpret, is the all purpose room at my school. It’s primarily been a black-box theater, and yet this photo is showing the demolition of that space. Starting in September, this will be my school’s design studio, which I’ll be nominally in charge of (really, it will be the kids’ space — I’ll just be in charge of helping them tease out their thinking processes).
It’s going to be interesting, watching this room be transformed from one kind of space to another, and then helping a group of kids figure out how to use and plan that new space in all its potential.
