I’ve just received a request to license a photo from my Flickr website, along with a note asking me to sign the release and enclose an invoice for the use of the photo, if there’s a licensing fee.
I’m curious if anyone else has gone through this, and what sort of licensing fee is appropriate.
I’ve been asked a few times over the years. I always just waive any fee and give permission for use of the photo.

Yeah. In this particular case, they want to license a photo that represents a thought process that I might have turned into a book someday. So I feel like I should ask for some compensation because someone has taken the idea farther than I did. But I also didn’t want to be greedy. We worked it out.
