In this new video, I show how medieval European towns and cities linked up through trade. Everyone became more prosperous. The standard of living rose throughout Europe and the Middle East. New goods and materials, and new opportunities for merchants, appeared throughout Europe, but primarily western Europe. The economy began to shift from barter, to coined money, and from coined money to credit.
