The person who wrote this and I had a brief e-mail conversation earlier this week about whether or not I should post this video. The person admitted that they found the video pretty helpful. “It gave me a perspective on my writing that I’d never had before,” as the person wrote.
It’s interesting that a piece of advice that’s been common, and widely hailed, as one of E.B. White’s writing guidelines in A Manual of Style, should be so often overlooked in American schools.
