I imagine the last week of school, particularly the one before December Vacation, is always challenging. We’ve got the usual round of interruptions which are also social necessities/niceties — parties for the students, parties for the faculty and staff and trustees, a Winter Concert to show off what the kids in band and jazz band and chamber strings have been doing, the rehearsals for that Winter Concert, and so on. These activities are good and necessary, but it does make it hard to sustain concentration on one topic.
