Here’s the second video in this series of four that I have planned. It’s getting late and I still have grading to do before I go home to eat dinner, so I won’t do any more tonight. But I think you can see where this is going… Africa was fully a part of the trading world of the Indian Ocean by the time Vasco DaGama arrived in Calicut.

I like the video, but the sound quality hurts it – it’s too low, and muffled, so it feels to the listener as though you’re mumbling.
I may, in fact, be mumbling. I was racing a little bit to get it done, and I don’t actually do this very often. The sound quality is often a little poor when I do make videos. Do you have any advice about improving sound quality? Will an external mike help?
