My new school is much more tech-savvy in some ways than my old school. I’m required to post my homework to the website on a weekly basis, and then adjust the homework as needed on a daily basis. It doesn’t require any HTML skills (though I have them), but it does require a certain amount of time and preparation.
Apparently on Friday, I deleted my whole homework page from sixth and seventh grades while editing. No one could find it over the long weekend.
Being the ‘most tech-savvy person in the building’ doesn’t shield us from bone-headed mistakes at all. It’s important to remember that human error is possible from anyone, at any time, and that technology often magnifies the error.
As the kids would say, My Bad.
