Pointer to another Leadership Tool

My affinity group at SpiritFire did a leadership exercise from NOLS involving a directional compass, and some basic insights into human interaction, which was really quite useful. So, I produced this handy graph that shows all the relevant data bits as a useful reference-card. Only, I generated it as a PDF file, which is not so useful for posting on Flickr or LiveJournal or Tribe.net or any of the other wonderful networking tools I use.

So I posted it to my .Mac account, and you can see the results here. If you find it interesting or useful, please let me know.

  1. That was interesting AND useful. I think leadership will be a theme in the upcoming year.

    I took a communication styles workshop at a tech meeting that was somewhat similar – maybe they’re based off the same personality model. This broke people down into:

    * Rhinos: extroverts, dominants (CEOs)
    * Honeybees: extroverts, followers, thrive on social interaction (marketing)
    * Tortoises: introverts, deliberate, methodical, the glue of any organization (support staff)
    * Owls: introverts, dominants, analyzing the world from their lofty perch (programmers)

    I had only thought of rhinos as leaders, had especially NOT thought of owls as leaders. It’s interesting to consider how those qualities would play out.

  3. Thanks!!

    It reminds me a lot of the tribal medicine wheel that indicates personality/leadership preferences. I’ve always been fascinated by leadership/personality type indicators.
