Someone on tribe.net recently posted the following announcement:
“Please look at the picture, read what her mother says, then forward this message on.
Maybe if everyone passes this on, someone will see this child. That is how the girl from Steven’s Point was found, by circulation of her picture on TV. The internet circulates even overseas, South America, and Canada etc. Thanks. Please pass this to everyone in your address book.
We have a Deli manager (Acme Markets) from Philadelphia, Pa who has a 13 year old daughter who has been missing for 2 weeks. Keep the picture moving. With luck on her side she will be found.
`I am asking you all, begging you to please forward this email on to anyone and everyone you know, PLEASE. My 13 year old girl, Ashley Floors is missing. She has been missing for now two weeks.
It is still not too late. Please help us. If anyone any where knows anything, please contact me at: mailto:HelpfindAshleyFlores@yahoo.com. I am including a picture of her. All prayers are appreciated
It only takes 2 seconds to forward this.
If it was your child, you would want all the help you could get.’
It is both my pleasure and my regret to inform you that Ashley Flores is not missing. My pleasure, to be able to reveal the hoax; my regret, because I know your heart is huge, and you wanted to help this missing girl… who seems not to be missing. Neither the AMBER alert system, nor police, nor the national center for missing and exploited children know anything about her.
http://www.missingkids.com/ is the website of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She’s not listed there.
http://www.amberalert.gov/ is the website of the national AMBER Alert system. She’s not listed there.
http://www.ppdonline.org/hq_cibulletins.php is the website of the Philadelphia Police press release page. She’s not listed there at any time in the last year — all of 2007 so far, and all of 2006. Press releases older than that are deleted, but it’s certainly not “in the last two weeks.“
These websites discuss the lack of evidence regarding her absence:

Aannnnnnd….. in a final bit of idiocy, it turns out that the tale may have been concocted on http://www.myspace.com/ What a surprise. The final paragraphs of this page offer that theory: Missing Person: Ashley Flores – Netlore Archive
Please, don’t send this one on.
