and I spent the weekend in New Hampshire, partly visiting her mother, and partly visiting old friends. I took a lot of photos, very few of us, and a lot of architecture.
This alley has impressed me for a long time, and finally I had a camera available when I was in Portsmouth. I like the way that the brick path curves through the space, and the extra areas have been converted to raised flower beds. I like the way so many windows look out onto the space without looking directly across at each other. And I like the fact that shops and business entries are located further back along the alley, but that signs near the entrance point out where you should go. It’s well thought out, in my opinion.
