Apparently I’m the High Priestess now. My parents will be so surprised.
You are The High Priestess
Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.
The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

In other news, school is out. Fencing season has started (I have a team of 12, down from 23 — gods I wish I had a second coach to help out, and be in the room every day. I could have a team of 16-20, easily, and four strips in the room where we practice. It’s a large study hall most of the time, so there’s plenty of space to practice. Come visit, you fencers. There’s practice every week day! Our first match is December 2.
I’ve begun thinking about what my classes will do during the inter-term stretch between Thanksgiving and Christmas. My 7th grade class will do the Renaissance, by 8th grade English class should do some holiday writing of some sort, but also practice for the SSATs, and my 9th grade class will do early Africa and America, so that we can do Greece and Rome and suchlike in the main body of the winter term. I have no idea if I’m going to keep my Korean tutee, or revert to my American tutee when he comes back from his suspension. We’ll see. Latin will continue with the usual suspects, but they want to speed up, and do a chapter a week. So that means doing 2 1/2 chapters when we get back, and that means I have to do the prep-work beforehand, so that I know what I’m teaching them before they get back.
Other parts of my life are evening out. I’m thinking about leaving school and teaching somewhere else, but not seriously (at least not yet). I’m working on my novel over Thanksgiving, after a long time away from it. I’m working on poetry. and I saw a movie with our friends M&H on Sunday afternoon, called The Secret, about the power of setting intention in your life, and building plans and achievements from the emotional level and from thought rather than from the physical level of present-moment reality. The movie is mostly talking heads, but there are a lot of quotations from famous people. The essence of the Secret is that we are responsible for creating our present reality. What you think, what you believe, is what is. It was a lot to absorb in a short period of time, but I was impressed at the same time that I thought it was hokey. Guess that means it’s about on target.
