So today, I received an e-mail from the Internet Political Party’s new organizational group. This political party is trying to get itself organized on Yahoo.com. The message, in its entirety, reads:
“I trying to start a totally new way of political party check it out”
Ordinarily, the offer to join a new political party would be quite appealing, especially one that’s properly and positively organized. However, I think punctuation should be part of a political party’s platform, quite literally. At a minimum, I expect at least two periods, and two capital letters instead of one. An apostrophe-m would be nice, and a semi-colon would be delicious. A gerund like organizing would be superlative.
This seems to be an offer I’ll skip. Hope all of you going to Rites of Spring have a superior time. May your weather be wonderful.
