Washington DC

I’m down in DC this week on a field trip with my students. The pedometer I bought for Sicily and then forgot to take with me shows 11,885 steps for yesterday, or around 5.6 miles. I think the step-to-mile calculation is off, but the 10,000+ steps has got to be good for me.

I haven’t found a place to do tai chi yet today, so that’s something to watch for as we’re out and about today. I’m really feeling the lack of it, so far. Off to roust the kids.

  1. We could have lunch, in theory…

We could have lunch, in theory, tomorrow.

Or we might be able to have dinner tomorrow, if we could arrange to meet at Pentagon City.

Tomorrow is our “Smithsonian Day”, though, so I might not be able to come to you. Alternatively, we’re staying in the Van Ness/UDC area, and if you were able to come up the Red Line for coffee and nosh, there’s a place right by the metro that opens at 6am called Epicurean & Co…. a breakfast treat could work, too.

Slipping away this evening would be highly problematic until about 9pm.

  2. Hey, I’m at the Red Cross on 20th & E NW. I remember how your trips work – if you have time to grab lunch sometime this week let me know and I’ll schedule around it, otherwise maybe next time. I even have a copy of Exalted 2nd with me at the office if you haven’t seen it yet.
