School Wrangling

Today was sorta the first full day of school.

Due to some technical difficulties with tutoring, my public speaking courses may be cancelled so that I can tutor two children whose parents specifically requested me as the tutor to their son. It’s like some sort of wrangling in the Imperial households of the Roman emperors… only, I hope I’m not ordered to commit suicide or wind up quietly strangled in some back alley. So, I’m going to lose two classes of twelve students each in order to tutor two kids. It’s a complex trade-off, but not inconsistent with the school’s standard policy of promoting one-on-one training. And it means I can offer rhetoric as a club or co-period instead of during the academic day, freeing me up to do other things, as well. This is what comes of trusting one’s intuition a day early.

and I are holding a barbeque at my place in northeast Connecticut on Friday, around 6pm. Come on down, and then attend the RiverFire celebration in Putnam, CT, thereafter. Details to follow in the next post or so, but some sense of who’d come would be useful. Jesse, I know you’d like to; and and Jay…. anyone else?

Does anyone need info on the firewalk? The firewalk is Saturday, and some firm commitments are necessary in the near future. Please comment here, as well.
