I hate cleaning, but I love being in a clean and organized apartment, and today I made great progress toward having a clean and organized apartment. Go figure. My mom is not an avid believer in feng shui, nor am I, but thanks to her I do have a copy of the bagua or directional chart lying around, and I do discover that it makes a difference in my personal life if my house and work spaces are neat and organized. My mood improves, my confidence goes up, and my feeling of inner peace improves. I should try setting my household altars according to feng shui sometime… or not.
In the meantime there’s a genuine improvement in my mood just by de-junking my space. I have four or five garbage bags of stuff ready to go to the dumpster right now, though I’ll wait until tomorrow to do that. I may go through the lower levels of my bookshelves, where crap seems to accumulate, and through my desk-side filing cabinet, before I get rid of the trash. I like getting rid of it all at once, so I know that it’s gone, and I know what’s gone, as well.
and I are going to ‘s and ‘s tonight for dinner. Bringing Quinoa and Peach salad; the plums I got are no good. 🙁 Will make that at ‘s house so it doesn’t get stale, and then up to Worcester to have dinner with them.
Edit/Update: Oh, yeah. I just checked, and I have six days of music more to listen to, before I’ve listened to everything in my iTunes library. Progress. For a while I had seventeen days of stuff I hadn’t ever heard before…
was wonderful to see you both, too =)

The company was wonderful, and the chicken was delicious. Let’s do that again at least once a month, please! 🙂
There’s something about de-cluttering your house that makes it feel more open and alive. It’s great.
And I’m not tripping over anything, any more, either.
Thanks for having us! It was wonderful and a great way to change the environment!
thank you for coming out =) company was wonderful & the salad was delicious!

John and I cleaned the bejesus out of the house this weekend, and it feels so much better to be in. Bigger, too, and more full of light.
Some of it will have to come back out of the closets, but we’re putting that off as long as possible.
