Long day at Six Flags with the ninth grade. Ran into a former student who now goes to another school. That school was in the park too. Had an ice cream. Mostly sat around writing and reading in the open-air pizza parlor, shivering in my four layers. It rained off and on all day, but I was under cover, so I didn’t care much. Uncomfortable, ugly day, and yet I enjoyed myself. Canto V of the epic’s Book II is almost finished. Got almost nothing done on the play. I have to get the play done in time for SpiritFire; I’d like to be able to finish Book II by then, too. That’s ten cantos, though, so that’s not likely to happen, especially if the play continues to be balky. Plus there’s comments, grades, and end-of-term do-dads. It will all get done — it’s just going to take some elbow grease.
