called me about 7:30pm to ask why I wasn’t at the Frantic Rabbit. Sorry, Gary and Christina and the other two poets. I got caught up in working on White Wolf stuff, and lost track of the time. I’m sorry for bailing on dinner and lazer tag following poetry, too, but I had the sense that something strange was coming down the pike.
Turns out I was right.
Around 9:30, called. She and I had a somewhat difficult phone conversation that lasted until almost midnight. We’ve revised our plans for the weekend so many times that we’ve wound up not pleasing anyone, least of all ourselves. She was unhappy, I was getting angry, and we almost broke up. We actually talked about that for a while, even. I think we got a handle on some of the hard things that have been going on between us for weeks, and I’m prepared to make some effort to try to get through this. I’m more hopeful about our relationship today than I’ve been in a while. Love you, .
It took me a long time after that to go to sleep, though. I think I actually went to bed around 2am. Slept through t’ai chi, slept through my morning writing slot, and now I’m getting ready to go to Auburn to get my oil changed and have my car go through its 3,000 mile check-up. We’ll see how that goes.
UPDATE:: OK, change of plan… not going to Worcester, because they can’t accomodate me for an oil change and the 3,000 mile checkup today. I’ll have to do it tomorrow. This is the problem with forgetting to make appointments. White Wolf writing day today until 3pm or so, when I’ll head to Natick. Sigh.
I have my feature in Natick, MA this evening. In theory, there might be lazer tag after at a place in Natick. I may be up for it, but we’ll have to see how things go at the reading tonight.
