Victoria Station

I’m sitting in Victoria Station (the new cafe in Putnam), and posting to the internet… it seems to be easy to use the web, and to post to live journal, and to get mail. It seems to be much harder to send mail. Dan, the owner/caffeinator, said he’d help me figure out how to get it to work properly, but he’s not in at the moment.

I need food. I may have to go in search of food, because everything here is a baked-goods type thing.

Today I weighed 269. I’m so sick of not being able to get below 260, though I’m happy I’ve stayed below 270. Time to get back in the diet program.

Update: I’ve finished reading the first of the books WW sent me in manuscript form. I read until 11:00 or so last night, and then my eyes couldn’t take it any more. I’ve started reading the second book, and this one is rougher — fewer grammatical errors, fewer spelling problems, fewer files to be slogged through. On the other hand, my eyes are already tired of reading stuff on the screen. It may be worthwhile to print out this stuff, as suggested. It’s such a waste of paper, though. There’s probably seventy pages here, at least. The third one is the one I’m worried about — it’s supposedly the roughest text and the one with the most spelling and grammatical errors, because it’s the one that hasn’t been assembled for printing yet. I’m not confident about being able to finish all of this by Friday… but I’m going to push hard today.

  1. What if you went to school and got some paper from the recycle bin and organized it so the print for the documents was on the other side of what ever is being recycled. That way you wouldn’t be wasting so much paper.
