Sleeplessness…

So last night, I woke up sufficiently from coughing that I saw the clock say 11:15, 12:00, 12:45, 1:30, 2:15, 3:00, 3:45, 4:30, and 5:15. The alarm went off at six. The school infirmary gave me some cough medicine last night with codeine, and so far it’s the only thing that’s really worked. Of course, it’s worked very, very well. My coughing is greatly diminished, and I’m not hacking up goop every 40 seconds, and I’m starting to feel a little better.

It doesn’t seem like I’m out of the woods yet, though. I’m still sniffleous, and when I do cough, it feels like someone inside my skull is taking a sledge to the back of my brainpan. I also notice that today, I tend to me more achey and clogged inside than outside, which suggests it’s more dust-related than pollen-related.

and I are going to V’s birthday party on Saturday night. The party is supposed to be Asian/festive in nature, and we’re supposed to bring something to leave behind on the Spider altar. So I’m working on a poem on the tale of Arachne, who boasted that she was a better weaver than Athena, and paid for it.

  1. Could still be pollen … especially if your windows have been open because it has been quite windy and the pollen has probably blown in by now. I’m tellin’ ya…get some nettles and flaxseed oil. I started taking mine religiously yesterday…and I’ve been helped a bit. Plus I started using my Neti pot again…nasal irrigation works wonders!
