It’s been a good Monday. Still have to get through fencing practice, but I have a few things to teach the kiddies today, so it won’t be too bad. One of my fencing captains broke his leg, though, while skiing over the weekend. One less competent fencer to help me teach the others. Damn.
My sixth grade class is really settling down and getting to work. Amazing. They’ve had two teachers since the start of school, and so much energy that they were raring to let go of, and they could not be stopped. Now, they just have me, and I’m able to keep them settled, in their chairs, working ‘on-task’ as the teachers’ slang has it, and generally behaving well. Amazing. Progress is being made, and it seems that I would have done better to just take this class on my own from the start of school. I’d be doing much better at managing them by now, if I’d had them from the start of the school year. One more thing to be angry at the former dean of studies for. Imagine that.
, I met a guy named John this weekend in Maine. He’s considering coming to your school to work. I mentioned a few things ’bout your school, and he’d be interested in talking to you. He’s not pagan-friendly, so he might not understand some of your reasons for wanting to leave, but he would be interested in talking to you. Shall I forward your address to him, or send an e-mail co-introducing the two of you?
