I got up, I moved my body in the way that I do when I do tai chi, and then I stopped. There’s this point to the work, of course — improved functioning of the joints, flexibility, strength, health, and so on — but when you’re doing it, it doesn’t feel very important. And there’s both value and usefulness in that. If any day stands as hugely important; then the work as a whole is devalued; and yet the individual days build up to form the overall effort. It’s one of the reasons I was so upset the entry from a few days ago went missing between writing and publication. When that stuff vanishes, it’s like the work vanishes. Ooops, and all that.
