There was a Saturn-Neptune conjunction today at 0° Aries, perfecting at 11:51 am EST. I wrote a hymn for it, based on the themes of the thirty-six year Saturn-Neptune Cycle (which last perfected in 1988, and before that in 1951-52, then 1917, then 1882, 1846, and 1774 … and will next perfect in 2061)
Hymn for Saturn Conjunct Neptune
Hail, prophetic Neptune, liquid dreamer,
and Saturn, slow and stately hermit-monk:
Many play at being our redeemer —
yet your true vision exposes the junk,
the Potemkin towns, and propaganda,
and scandals hidden in press releases
that's preached by grinning preachers on the grift;
or vague verbiage in memoranda.
You show us the child smeared in feces,
and how far from goodness you let us drift.
Pull back the curtain and show us the man
yanking levers in the Emerald City;
the orphaned baby in the garbage can,
dumped by the prince who loves youthful titty
but won't accept he must be the father.
Show us the woman who stands up to tanks,
and the guard who opens the jailhouse gates
while the mighty are toppled from their thrones.
Show us the collapse of the reckless banks,
convictions of conscienceless reprobates,
new reverb when the Liberty Bell tones.
You reveal when profits take precedence
as tyranny's velvet glove wears away
and ordinary folk, with impudence,
stand up and declare, "Not Here. Not Today.
The deeds you have done in our name, shall cease;
those powers you used unwisely, you lose.
Now new patterns must emerge in due course.
Things might get worse — but it's better, we choose...
what we withhold, you'll never gain by force."
