I didn’t get to tai chi until this evening. The day was slippery and wet and ugly out this morning, and I had an early morning drive to a train station. It was early enough that I really needed to go to bed afterwards, especially after cleaning a trio of cars off that were completely iced over.
What with one thing and another I didn’t get to tai chi until almost 9:00pm. And then, I almost crippled myself.
There was a creaking sound from my left knee during Snake Creeps Down. And a serious pain.
The pain was short-lived. The moment I stood up again it was fine. I can put weight on it, and walk, and move around the apartment and outside. But I can’t squat on it, or more precisely sink down on it. I can walk around the apartment and it doesn’t hurt at all, and it’s fine in ‘normal mode’. But it is not fine in the “low positions” of tai chi. This is not good.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
No, that’s not good. If it’s not better by tomorrow, you’d probably better get an assessment… you might have torn something. You’re welcome to let me know how you’re doing. We have come through a torn-up MCL and ACL and Meniscus in the last year all healed without surgery. Best of health. Christina
