Before I went to bed last night, I slathered arnica oil on my knees, calves, and lower thighs. Something happened yesterday that made me think, “maybe this knee thing isn’t a knee thing at all; maybe it’s actually translated stress from a muscle cramp.” And sure enough, this morning I can do deep knee bends. Whatever was troubling me with my knees has gone away about 85%. That last 15% is troubling, though.
Today’s practice was slow, but not exactly easy. I am still working through whatever was causing my knees to lock up. At the same time, I think it’s likely that I haven’t ripped or torn a ligament or anything like that. An overextension of a muscle seems far more likely. And that’s pleasing — it means that this issue is going to work itself out normally, I think.
