Printing my exams

You Are The Sidekick
“Let’s get ’em, together!”
You are the helpful one. You may be shy and timid, but you are the kind that always seems to be doing something for someone else. On top of that, you are probably rarely seen away from another person. This extreme social life probably leads to hardships in other areas – but you do not mind that much. It makes life interesting, and if you can sort through the small troubles to help others, it makes everything you do worth it. You are not afraid to do the dirty stuff if you need to, though – so long as someone is there for you.

I wonder just whose sidekick I am?

I’m in the process of printing my exam. This involves loading the printer with special paper, and then printing each page separately, fourteen times. Why don’t I just use the photocopier, you may ask? Well, I’m printing my exams in color this year, and given that it’s mostly art and photographs from the twentieth century, it’s not a bad way to present a view of the world.

Last night, the headmaster took the ninth grade aside after dinner, and laid into them with the stick about serious offenses, while simultaneously dangling the carrot of special activities. The trouble is, those special activities aren’t planned very well, currently. For example, he promised that breakfast stuff would be brought up to the dorm this morning. Currently, no breakfast stuff has arrived. GA, my co-dorm-master, basically did his own thing, too, and took his floor — the ones with money, at least — off to Bill’s for food. My floor, and the poor ones, are going to be stuck with doughnuts and danishes — if they arrive at all.

Half-assed planning. I hate half-assed planning. I’m writing myself a memo this morning describing graduation week activities for the ninth grade, so that we can actually plan this whole pre-graduation idiocy a little better next year.

  1. I feel your pain on the poor planning thing. One of the chief problems I always had with the my dad’s temple org was how unprofessionally they handled their public events. My dad assured me things were getting better, which is why I allowed my interest in rejoining the org to rekindle. The [Big Scary Thing] I’ve been talking about last weekend was the first fundraiser I’d been to in over twelve years, and it still was handled worse than a high school talent show.

*sigh* I really need to discuss the thoughts that follow in my own LJ. People have been waiting for me to report on it.
